Vuze (formerly known as Azureus) is a bit-torrent client which follows a similar format to eMule but its makers claim it can offer significant improvements in terms of hits, download times and navigating available material.

There's no doubt that Vuze offers some spectacularly fast download times but this comes at a price. Mainly the fact that Vuze is extremely bloated and tries to install two toolbars when you install it. On the upside, because Vuze is an open source project, there is a large community of programmers, designers and users who are continually testing and improving it and there's an excellent FAQ.

You receive comprehensive stats about every file that's downloaded with Vuze (most of which will mean nothing to you though) but most importantly it gives you the all important Estimated Time of Arrival and Share Ratio which tells you how much of a particular file you have uploaded or given back to the community. Apparently, in a perfect world, every file should have a share ratio of two which means for each file you download, two users download it from you.

Possibly the most notable feature of Vuze, however, is the media website that's embedded into the application. It looks like an entertainment website and that's pretty much what it is only the entertainment can be downloaded via Vuze. These include gameshows, user generated content, sports and more.

Vuze -Per-file up/down and eta statistics.Subscription URL editting.System tray changes to support next download ETA and an options menu to control features.Support for using an external browser for search results and RSS feed viewing.Improved download speed.Improved web resource connectivity.

A torrent is a file that contains metadata for various information. It typically has a .torrent extension name and is only a few KB in size. Torrent clients are applications that use the metadata stored in torrent files to download media files, ebooks, games, programs, and other data types varying in size using the BitTorrent protocol.

I am running on 1.8.6 uTorrent for Mac. I am experiencing limited download speeds (.5% to 1% of maximum), and I have to keep restarting uTorrent every minute to sustain those speeds. My download bandwidth is set to unlimited. I am connected directly to the router on a DSL connection.

Since updating to 10.10/Yosemite, my maximum total download speed it capped at 10kb/s. If I quite uTorrent and restart it, the downloads jump up to 3-4mb/s for about half a minute, then it drops down to 10kb/s.

i just started a thread about this as i'm experiencing the same type of download speed issue... i've noticed that if i "Stop" all torrents other than the 1 or 2 i'm trying to download (and restart the program with non-download torrents stopped) that my speed is good and maintains high performance, but as soon as i activate all my torrents (one's that i'm seeding) the speed drops... i've got about 200 active torrents.

I think it also just might be this newer version of uTorrent because at the end of last year after that one update when the app wouldn't open for a lot of people I went back to an older version and never really had a problem downloading anything. Recently I updated to the newest version because I figured everything was sorted and now I seem to be having the same speed problems. A lot of times the speed stays between .5 and 1 kbp/s and then will spike up to near 400 kbp/s and then almost immediately drop back down. Or, depending on how many seeders are available I'll get a semi-steady download stream at around 200 kbp/s. Both are an issue because my download speed is somewhere around 65 mbp/s. Any serious solutions would be much obliged!

Another particularly great aspect of using this setup is that if a friend or coworker has a movie, video, photo, or music on their Mac that they want to play on the same TV and Xbox One, all they need to do is download and run Plex Media Server to make their media content accessible for streaming too.

Background: Through Steam, I recently downloaded the Team Fortress 2 Beta to this Mac and then removed it via Steam's "Delete Local Game Content." This has left the "Team Fortress 2 Beta" icon stuck on the Launchpad, and I cannot remove it.

Make sure to download from the best Mac torrent sites only, as downloading from untrusted sources can put your device at risk. Doing so will ensure that you are getting high-quality, legitimate files that are less likely to contain malware or viruses.

In case you're running macOS Catalina or newer, know that you can't use uTorrent Classic anymore. However, you'll get to use uTorrent Web - which, upon its installation, will be a part of your Web browser. However, you can use it to download any torrent for Mac and stream media files - which is something that wasn't available in the past.

In case you decide to try BitTorrent Web, you will see this is a Web-based application. You install it just like any torrent client, but it runs in your Web browser. You'll get to download any torrent for Mac, search files, stream media, and plenty more. All in all, this is definitely one of the most capable P2P clients for macOS - despite its recent transition to the Web.

Next on our list of the best Mac torrent clients, we have Folx. This is a highly interesting download manager that also handles torrents with ease. As such, it acts as the central place for all your downloads.

First, you need to know that Folx brings a highly polished interface. You can start by using the built-in search tool. The application will display an extensive list of results, so you can begin to download files in an instant. Also, you can also add torrents manually.

What needs to be said is that BitLord isn't the most polished torrent downloader for Mac, at least when it comes to its UI. However, it gets the job done and comes with many useful features that advanced users are going to love. And this is why we still believe that BitLord is one of the best Mac torrent clients.

In conclusion, the best torrent client for a Mac will depend on the specific needs and preferences of the user. No matter which free torrent client you choose, they will all offer some level of optimization for faster downloads. Making an informed decision requires taking the time to research and evaluate various options before committing.

The eMule program allows Mac users to share files with each other. The system works by creating a location where the files are shared and numerous people may upload at the same time. The benefit is that the users sharing may receive faster downloads. The more popular a file is, then the quicker and more efficiently it is shared.

Some people have a program that allows them to share files using torrents. This system has its own way of sharing files, and it will accept torrents, meaning eMule users have an advantage over people that just have Bittorrent or Utorrent because Mac users may also share in more than one way. The program itself is very easy to download and use. The program is being updated fairly frequently, which is why the auto-update feature is rather handy. The quick-search function is a great timesaver, and the eMule servers seem to have improved over the years. 2ff7e9595c
